Last Thursday, HSA Commercial Real Estate joined leadership from the city of Wauwatosa in celebrating the grand opening of The Mayfair Collection, a premier 270,000-square-foot shopping destination anchored by Nordstrom Rack, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. By 9 a.m., over 300 guests were in line awaiting the opening of the first Nordstrom Rack in the state of Wisconsin, and shoppers continued to turn out by the thousands throughout the day to be among the first to visit The Mayfair Collection.

HSA Commercial Real Estate continued to make news later in the day as an announcement was made that the firm had reached a strategic partnership deal with Bartolotta Restaurants to add three new and unique restaurant concepts to the project: a contemporary all-day diner, a pub, and a casual French restaurant. Bartolotta Restaurants, which operates several of the finest restaurants in the Milwaukee area, plans to open the diner concept–which will feature a drive-thru and outdoor patio–as soon as fall of this year. The other two restaurants will be incorporated in The Mayfair Collection’s second phase that will be anchored by Whole Foods Market and a 140-room extended-stay hotel.

Later in the day, HSA Commercial Real Estate hosted a private reception for project and municipal leaders to commemorate the opening of the first phase and to address the future development plans for the 69-acre “Burleigh Triangle”. Speakers at the event included HSA’s Tim Blum, Wauwatosa mayor Kathy Ehley, alderman Craig Wilson, architect Chris Thomas of TOA Associates, and Alec Zocher of Premier Design + Build. With only a few leasing opportunities remaining in Phase 1 of The Mayfair Collection, HSA Commercial is now turning its focus to Phase 2 which is expected to break ground in late May with a projected opening for Whole Foods in early 2016.
