The Milwaukee Business Journal honored The Mayfair Collection’s Phase 1 as the Retail Project of the Year at the publication’s annual Real Estate Awards event. The ceremony, which was held last Friday at The Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee, included all of the most notable development and redevelopment projects from across the Milwaukee area. HSA Commercial’s Tim Blum and Jack Shaffer (pictured above) were on-hand to accept the award on behalf of the company, and they were joined by project architect Chris Thomas of TOA Architects, general contractor Alec Zocher of Premier Design + Build, and several senior officials from the City of Wauwatosa.
“We are grateful for our partnership with the city; the patience of our partners; the vision of our architect, Chris Thomas; the diligence of our contractor, Premier Design + Build; the faith of our lender, US Bank; and the excitement of our customers,” said Tim Blum, executive vice president with HSA Commercial. “All of those factors have combined to make this a successful project and to make this award possible.”
Phase 1 of The Mayfair Collection–which includes Nordstrom Rack, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, and more–opened to huge crowds of customers in April 2014. The project’s construction consisted of adaptively repurposing functionally obsolete warehouse buildings along Highway 45 into new, contemporary retail environments that have been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of shoppers from across the metro Milwaukee area since the shopping center’s grand opening. The Whole Foods anchored second phase of The Mayfair Collection is now under construction with a scheduled opening in February 2016.
