This month, the HSAwareness Wisconsin team visited the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern Wisconsin to prepare lunches for local families staying in the organization’s facility in Milwaukee. HSA’s Dion Watton and George Hunt participated in the Lunch-2-Go program, preparing sandwiches, salads, and other healthy meal options for the residents and their children.
As Ronald McDonald House staff will attest, something as simple as a bagged lunch makes a world of difference to the families residing in the House. Providing children with a premade lunch on-the-go helps eliminate both the worry and cost for these parents, giving them more time to focus on their child’s other needs.
HSAwareness is excited and proud to have volunteered in the Family Meal Program for the third time and plans to continue lending a hand to Ronald McDonald House whenever possible.
The Ronald McDonald Family Meal Program is always looking for new volunteers throughout the country. Giving back to these families and children is so important and makes a huge difference.
