Chicago-based HSA Commercial Inc. today announced that Versona Accessories has signed a lease at The Mayfair Collection, the developer’s new regional shopping center in Wauwatosa, for the retailer’s first store in the state of Wisconsin. Versona, which is owned by Charlotte, N.C.-based The Cato Corporation (NYSE: CATO), is an upscale women’s boutique offering apparel and accessories, including jewelry, handbags and shoes. The new store will be located next to DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse and is scheduled to open in spring 2016.
“Though some of our anchor stores also sell fashion accessories, we felt that a specialty retailer that focuses almost exclusively on accessories would really complete the shopping experience for our customers,” said Tim Blum of HSA Commercial Real Estate. “We looked all the way across the country to find the right accessories store to complement the existing lineup of upscale fashion brands at The Mayfair Collection, and we hope that we have found it with Versona.”
Phase 1 of The Mayfair Collection — which opened in April 2014 and is anchored by Nordstrom Rack, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH and DSW, among other retailers — is now fully leased. The project’s second phase, scheduled to open in February 2016, will be anchored by Whole Foods Market and include a mix of upscale bars and restaurants, as well as a 140-room Hilton Homewood Suites hotel.
Each of the first two phases of The Mayfair Collection consisted of adaptively repurposing functionally obsolete warehouse buildings into contemporary retail environments. Subsequent phases of the project call for an additional 50,000 square feet of ground floor retail as part of a mixed-use component with over 1,000 luxury residences that will be constructed by Fiduciary Real Estate Development on land adjacent to The Mayfair Collection over the next three to five years. The first 250 residential units are scheduled to break ground next spring.
