Christine Muszynski, Executive Vice President and Director of Management Operations, HSA Commercial Real Estate, today announced that Vincennes University (VU) will open its Logistics Training and Education Center at Sierra Gateway Park Building I, located at 853 South Columbia Road, Plainfield, Ind. HSA Commercial Real Estate, which manages the facility, completed a 30,162-square-foot lease with VU, which expects to open the Training Center in August with new classrooms and laboratories.

VU, “Indiana’s first college”, will provide instruction in order picking training, fork-lift certification, and truck driver training as well as short-term classes in Six Sigma and total quality management. The University also plans to offer an associate degree program in Global Supply Chain Management at the Center.

The Town of Plainfield, Ind., a western suburb of Indianapolis, agreed to provide a $500,000 grant to VU to help cover the start-up costs for the program in an effort to demonstrate the community’s leadership in logistics. The incentive package and Sierra Gateway Park’s immediate proximity to Indianapolis International Airport were key factors in the University’s selection of the location.

John M. Hanley, associate with CB Richard Ellis, represented ownership in the transaction. Andrew Schrage with Coldwell Banker Commercial Realty Services represented Vincennes University.

Kuntzman Trucking, a 75-year-old freight transportation services firm based in Alliance, Ohio, also recently signed a 12,355-square-foot lease at Sierra Gateway Park Building I, bringing occupancy of the 104,400-square-foot multi-tenant facility to 100%.
